Alpharetta Boy Scout Helps Save Dad, Gets Medal

An Alpharetta Boy Scout is being hailed a hero after rescuing his father during a family fishing trip. Twelve-year-old Adam Puckett was nominated for the prestigious National Medal of Merit for his quick and thoughtful actions while a fishing trip with his family last summer. Puckett and his father, Reid maneuvered their SUV around a rugged remote river road after the accident. It happened last summer when Reid Puckett broke his arm on a family fishing trip to the Toccoa River, near Blue Ridge.
