DO NOT MISS THIS! Ryan’s Farm Camping Trip (2 nights)

Ryan Farm
Date(s) and Time(s):      Drop off at Ryan's Farm on Friday 8/26, at 6 PM
Pick up Sunday, 8/28, at 10 AM at Ryan’s Farm

Location (s):                      
Soils Drive, New Castle,PA (ALL this IS the address - click the link - there is no other home or business on this road. Click the link for the map to show the location and get directions.
Uniform:NO UNIFORM – bring work clothes – you will get dirty. Change of clothes (or 2).

Description: An awesome weekend of camping and merit badges at Ryan’s Farm.


You will be working on the following merit badges:
This may be your ONLY opportunity to earn some of these, and it will be a lot of fun, guaranteed!

Schedule:
Friday
6 PM- Arrive at Ryan's Farm
Evening- discuss soil and water conservation, then fishing, campfire (cookout with hot dogs and s’mores)

Saturday
AM- Breakfast, then farm mechanics merit badge (learn to change oil, hooking up hydraulics, how a diesel engine runs, sharpening tools with a grinder, tig welder, how to repair tools)
Lunch- Pulled pork, chips, etc.
Afternoon- Bike or hike (choice)
Evening- campfire cooking and discuss stuff
After-dinner SURPRISE

Sunday
10 AM pickup at Ryan's Farm

What to bring (or not):

  • Chair for the fire
  • NO TENTS or food needed
  • Bicycle (if you're biking)
  • Bike helmet (if you're biking)
  • Tennis shoes if you're hiking)
  • Fishing gear
  • Long pants
  • Work gloves
  • Baseball cap
  • Sleeping bag, pillow, and sleeping pad (you will be sleeping inside, but on a floor)
  • Hiking/work/muck boots (for farm work)
